A hybrid version of the Nissan Murano became available in 2016. The third generation debuted in 2015 with redesigned front and rear styling and a further refined interior. The second generation also gave the world the quirky Murano CrossCabriolet-a two-door convertible SUV. Available in S, SE or range-topping LE trim with all-wheel drive standard, the Murano gained safety systems like brake assistance for the first time. This sound system has been designed and engineered specifically for the unique cabin acoustics of this vehicle. The second-generation Nissan Murano arrived in 2009 with an upgraded interior and more optional technology. This focus on engaging driving was taken to the next level by the Nissan Murano GT-C, which featured performance brakes and suspension while adding a turbocharger to the V6. The first-generation Nissan Murano debuted with fully independent suspension, providing better handling and ride quality than some of its SUV competition. Front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive as an available option. All three versions have been powered by a 3.5-litre V6 paired with a CVT transmission. The Nissan Murano SUV was first introduced in the 2003 model year and has since been produced over three generations.
